Asagao (Morning Glory)
Morning glories were first introduced in the Heian period for their medicinal properties and gained popularity in cultivation during the Edo period, often appearing in ukiyo-e artwork. Due to the high cost of the seeds, they came to symbolize wealth and prosperity. Additionally, their strong vine growth represents the concept of a "solid bond."
